New Horizon Leadership Institute, Bangalore is a premier B-School offering two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management Programs- Post Graduate Diploma in Management (General Management), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Service Management) and ), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Marketing Management). NHLI is an associate of New Horizon Educational Institution comprising a large group of educational institutes offering various educational programs from KG to PG and Ph.D since 1970. The group is led by Shri Mohan Maghnani, Chairman, NHEI.
Fast Track Growth: In the second year of existence we have increased our intake from 60to180 by introducing a New Program titled PGDM in Services Management with a strong focus on Services Sector with five verticals viz. banking, insurance, financial services, retail, telecom, travel and tourism and hospital administration. This year NHLI launched yet another job oriented innovative Program - PGDM Marketing Management by including more than 20 courses in Marketing Management specialization which would be a very intensive marketing program aims at preparing hard core marketing professionals.
Faculty: The institute has identified and appointed eminent faculty members with Doctoral degrees in their respective fields and with more than 25 years of industrial, teaching, training and consultancy experience as regular and part-time faculty. Most of the faculty members are having industrial experience at senior positions.
Innovative Initiatives: The Institute has excellent physical infrastructural facilities with state of the art class rooms, conference facilities, well stocked library, wi-fi campus and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.
ISO 9001:2000 Certified Institute Under Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand: As a part of our endeavors provide quality management education we have obtained ISO 9001:2000 Certification from ICS under Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand. NHLI is the only institute to have obtained ISO Certification by the time we commenced classes by getting the Admission Process certified and later the scope of ISO certification has been enhanced to cover various teaching learning and evaluation processes.
Soft Skills Training as a Main Stream Course: NHLI lays tremendous emphasis on Soft Skills training and a special customized soft skills training program will be introduced in the First Trimester
Industry Institute Integrated Management Training Program: New Horizon Leadership Institute has designed a unique Industry Integrated Management Training Program by combining summer internship, project dissertation and customized company specific specialization programs in three stages during the two year PGDM Program. The students thus, will be extending their relationship with the same organization and take up dissertation project that aligns the research needs of the company. The students could devote full time for this project as there is no course work in VI Trimester.
COMPANY DRIVEN SPECIALIZATION: Our PGDM Program is a dual specialization program and we will be offering one specialization to the company which has provided training to students in the earlier two components viz. Summer Internship and Project Dissertation. Under this, the company can prescribe course structure for three to four courses and instruction will be given by our faculty or the faculty deputed by the company. This will enable the company to reduce the training time if it makes an employment offer to the student after completion of PGDM.
E- Journals: NHLI has created a vast resources with as many as 1500 journals available on the website and also through the library.
Digital Books: NHLI will be making available about 1500 text books of various areas of management in a digital form. The digital books could be accessed by all students through their laptops anywhere on the campus.
Website with a difference: NHLI has designed the unique website which has different from many management Institute website in terms of the content and the depth. The website has comprehensive details of various programs offered, lesson plans, lecture materials, power point presentations, trainer manuals, question banks. The website provides links to various sources of information.
Live Projects: From the first year onwards live projects have been initiated for example a Comprehensive Study on Emerging Trends in Corporate Training covering as many as 84 companies has been successfully completed by the students of HR specialization.
A project on Management Programs: A Study of Stakeholder Expectations was a unique initiative making students to understand the stakeholder expectations under this project more than 100 students of PGDM 2009 Batch. During this project, the opinions of more than 5000 students across the country have been collected.
BUSINESS RESEARCH AND CONSULTANCY
Customer Satisfaction Surveys: NHLI has initiated customer satisfaction surveys in which the current final year students have engaged in conducting survey of food retailing, Banking Insurance etc.
Lost Customer Research: NHLI would be initiating research in a focused area, namely, lost customer research. This project will help companies to locate the lost customers and also to find out reasons why they had left, which might help the company to regain those customers.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT: As a part of our initiatives to develop more job creators than job seekers NHLI would be announcing a unique Web Based Learning Initiative and Online Certification Program in Entrepreneurship Development being developed by NAME. This program will be offered as a part of MOU between NAME and NHLI.
Online Training Programs in Sales and Marketing Management under MOU with Sales and Marketing Executives International a globally reputed association of sales and marketing executives world over.
NEW INITIATIVES: Case Bank and Case clearing House: NHLI will be setting up the Case Bank and a case clearing house which will facilitate accessible a number of case studies to the students and faculty members. The Case Bank will comprise of a collection of Case Studies from various sources and them available in a digital form through our library net work. Initially about 1500 case studies covering various functional areas of management will be compiled and be available to all students.
Online Internal Examinations and Assessment: NHLI would be initiating conduct of internal examination in a online mode from the current academic year. This will facilitate the students to take the examination with much ease. Similarly it would be easy for the faculty members to evaluate the Internal Assessment.
Online Course Delivery: We have plans to conduct some of the course in the program on online mode this would be reducing the class room instruction time substantially and the students can work on real time projects while studying and responding to academic requirements in his own phase and time. With all these initiatives we have produced well groomed management graduates who have secured 98- percent first class and 29 students passed out with distinction. Most of the students have secured jobs in reputed companies or awaiting offers from companies like Accenture, Barklays Bank, Our initiatives have also recorded a higher degree of satisfaction and appreciation from all our industry associates.
